Springfield Musket ... Is It Original???
Hey All,
I do not know all the differences between the Springfield muskets (1861, 1863 and 1864 guns). This gun is dated 1864, and has the features of the 1863 or 1864, but I know that many guns were put together from parts after the war. I am trying to decide if this is an original or not.
Can I get some experts to review the photos shared at the link below to let me know if it appears to be original and unaltered? Thank you for your help.

Appreciate your time in advance,

Springfield Musket ... Update!
All,
I have possession of the gun, and it is gorgeous! Thanks for all the advice, guys.
I am having some trouble understanding the cone, cone seat and how "fire gets in the hole" I can drop a thin pipe cleaner about 1/2 in into/through the cone, and I have attached a picture which I think shows the flash hole in front of the breech plug face. I can blow air through the cone and into the breech end of the barrel. This gun has amazing rifling; it looks as though it has aged, but may not have been issued.

Is this the flash hole at the 5 o-clock position? And, the breech plug face?
