strong finish for the parts queen

Took 2 rifles and 50 rounds to the range. I spent most the time with mediocre results from my Gibbs drill rifle turned a4 repro - a nice random distribution all over the 10 ring, with a few fliers. I hoped for more, but...meh it is what it is
A few rounds left (6) for my recently put together and rescued parts queen, before sending it out to chuck to get the ugly brownish bluing job it has off and properly parkerized. I wanted to convince myself one last time it's worth the added investment.

This was very unexpected and I was most satisfied since I usually struggle with the tiny peep.

Very nice surprise indeed! Good shooter and good shooting.

It's headed off to chuck now. When it comes back it will be rid of the ugly brown/straw colored bluing someone before me did...and Steve Earle's repro unertl bases.
I'm tempted to remove my raw linseed oil only finish and stain it. The other side is very light, dense grain walnut. It's a new Minelli that I had to sand all it's stained finish off because the stock was very fat. I'm probably rushing it though. Finish is only a month old. If I don't get too antsy about it, maybe I can let it go for at least a year and see how the color develops.

That's usually what happens if someone blues over a poorly removed parkerizing. Some just don't know the difference. Even if they had bead blasted it before bluing, it would have showed up flat blue and a black color. I can't tell if that's what's happened here and it won't matter after Chuck is done.

I tested an area under the receiver with rust/blue remover. Put a drop on, let it set for 30 seconds and with just a wipe of a cloth I had bare metal.
Indeed...it won't matter at all...I'm super excited.
