I'd have been more than happy to have been offered 5000€ for mine but now, if that's the new market price I'd be looking for more.
"Rare" RAF issue, last 'serviced' at 34-Base Workshops Catterick September 1968. New Butt fitted to suit Snipers LoP.
I have not seen this sale on eGun so I can't confirm this. If you add up the values of a No. 4 T rifle with the value of a No. 32 scope mismatching to the rifle and the value of a transit chest mismatching to the other two as well, I don't think you would end up at € 7000 (that equals $ 8000). For this amount of money I would expect an ensemble to be all matching numbers, including scope, mount and transit chest. But if you are willing to pay these prices it is of course up to you.
Edit: here the link to the auction of the particular discussed rifle. I assume it was you who has bought the rifle? A bit weird since your starting post dates from 4th March in which you state you have the opportunity to purchase whereas the auction already ended on 2nd March.

The rifle is worth what you paid for and won it if this is the case and its not going to increase in value by putting it up here for people to give their opinions on Promo's got it right why ask after the fact. If some one wanted it more than you then they may have outbid you then the rifle is worth that figure to them and not that sum on the on the open market as its too fluid especially in an auction we have all seen things go for ridiculus prices and others that went for a song.
Best take it to the range and shoot it and do a report on how it goes!!!!!!!!!!!
Concerning the 7000€ auction:
Rifle and scope were matching, just the scope-case was incorrect in serialnumber. Chest seemed to be correct and some items like cleaning-kit etc were included aswell.
Now for the actual rifle:
Yes I won the auction, but it needs to be imported to Germany at first - so I am not in possession of it atm. I may have formulated it a bit weird at the start of the thread indeed.
I was quite sure about the authenticity from my knowledge, but I dont have any experience about enfields. So I thought it would be smart to ask the professionals here in addition while the process is ongoing ;)

CINDERS, you are absolutely right. I was ready to pay way more for the gun, because I definately wanted it.
As already mentioned, I just wanted to be sure about the rifle to be original - thats all. No reselling intended, just want to do exactly what you recommend: take it to the range, test it properly, do a report, being happy and to appreciate this excellent piece of history ;)
And most of all: Thank you so much to all of you for helping me!
