Thanks browingautorifle. That was one possibility (foreign issue) in my thinking since I could find nothing in U.S. technical print or online regarding this.
You know there were tons of returns from the Danish? Most of the guns that were floating around a while back were. Lots of tells, Beech woodwork, zeroing tags inside the woodwork, barrels made by VAR instead of a US made...on and on. And that anchor on the sight spring.
Besides the excellent quality VAR barrels, you almost never see a Ferro Machine & Foundry M1 barrel. You would think by this point in
time some would have surfaced ? These Ferro M1 barrels (circle F) were shipped to Europe as replacements during the mid 1950's. I
once saw a Ferro M1918A2 barrel circle F and dated 5-56 and M1A1 cast butt plates by Ferro are around
