I didn't doubt you Charlie, just not seen very often and I don't think I've ever held one. That bore looks about perfect...
My 1942 Dispersal - N23263, so close to yours - also has the 4 groove barrel.
My rifle, which appears to be entirely unmolested and not FTR'd, has a beech No4 butt fitted. The butt has no manufacturer stamp or other mark, and is a close colour and patina match for the beech forend and handguards on the rifle.
