What kind of stone do you use to stone the bolt on a Lee Enfield
I'm guessing you are referring to fitting an SMLE bolt head for headspace or cleaning up the cocking piece? I use fine wet/dry sandpaper with a drop of oil on a piece of plate glass.
No I'm talking about fitting a new bolt so that it fits evenly on the locking lugs.
I use a fine stone that's about .25" or so wide and 4" long. I'm not sure what kind of stone it is. It's part of a machinist's tool chest I inherited when I was young.
I think he's asking is it a Carborundum or an Arkansas or...? I know our armorers had a set of fine stones in their kits, they gave me one set. There were several, one triangle, one flat, one square, thin...all for different applications. They were grey Carborundum stones.
That's it BAR, Carborundrum. My set is grey. There are several different shapes and sizes. They aren't the white Arkansas type.
