A .22 Conversion tale.......

I was going through some old "stuff" I have had for years, and came across a Ciener Conversion unit that I bought over 10 years ago. I have been looking for a frame since I found it and this weekend on the next table to me at the Lynden, WA gun show he had a late 1918 M1911 Colt that had been refinished with a baked on finish plus it had target sights.. He wanted WAY TO MUCH money for it, however I had a nice MK III BHP, so he offered to trade the Colt plus $200.00 for the BHP !!!!! Plus, the slide contained a like new Wilson SS NM .45 barrel...

I took the deal!!!!! That Unit fits the Colt frame slicker'n snot, Shazam!!!

I can't wait to test it out!

I bought this Colt for the frame for a .22 conversion..

Here is the 1918 Colt with the .45 slide. I have replaced the stocks with good repros, also the A1 hammer with a 1911 style and a 1911A1 grip safety... It had a full length guide rod which I replaced with the original GI type spring, guide and cap, which is the way God intended....

Whoever did the work on this pistola did a first class job! The Wilson barrel is very tight lockup and the sight installation is first class...

I set the trigger pull to a crisp 4.5# and took it out to Duane Hansen's farm and shot it, SHAZAM, it is a first class shooting iron with both .45 and .22.... I did good buying this sucker!!! And I bought just it for the frame!!!!!

Al, I don't know who made the trigger! I am looking forward to Reno, and I am bringing a very sweet young lady with me!! I tried to get Jamie to come, however she is working at the YMCA in Missoula and has a field trip scheduled so she said to tell the you guys "hello"!!!
