This is directly from the Hornady 7th Edition handbook of cartridge reloading. This is for the .267 diameter bullet though.Quote:

Works great on a ‘91 long rifle with gain twist.
I tried IMR 4064 and RL-15 with no luck, they produced very erratic velocities. I have some Varget and W760 but I'm having trouble with my sizing die so the project is briefly on hold.
If anyone has a source of proper .266-.267 bullets Id be interested!

.276 to .268 is not a big change.
More consistent concentricity than "bumping up" .264 to .268"??

Matt, I don't remember if I ever did it, but you might try to use the 6,5x55 Swedish dies for neck-sizing the Carcano's. Then a slight chamfering and it should work.
I used a hand tool that was sold as 6,5x52 for the Carcano, but after accurate observation I found out that it was for the Swedish cartridge.
The rounds had a very good neck tension. And they have been working in the past 25 years. I still use that thing.
Since I also have the Lee dies for the Swedish Mauser, I'll try them one of these days, as soon as I am left some time at home and...remember about it...
It is best to fullsize for Carcanos if you want them
To feed properly from the clips.
I have tree Carcanos and use Laupa mega 155 grain in .264
I know they are undersized but the Carcanos do not know.
They all shoot very well with them.

Well, many Carcano rifles shoot well with .264 bullets. Mine too. But I really never had trouble with feeding of neck-sized cases.
I’d give it a try. If feeding problems arise, then go back to full resize.
I tried the Swedish Mauser collet die. Works! I didn’t even have to make adjustments. It gets the first mm nice and tight.
