I am in need of the following parts for a British No.7 .22
extractor, extractor spring and pin, striker, striker spring and retainer, auxiliary extractor.
If you have any of these parts available, or have parts and would be willing supply a measured photograph or drawings that could be used to reproduce the parts please let me know.

A Browning HP extractor spring works well for the extractor.
Brian Dick produced these a few years ago (I think he said NEVER AGAIN !!) but may have drawings / dimensions.Quote:

I had the sets produced by AJ Parker back in the early 1990's, (did the deal with Edna!), when Springfield Sporters imported the load of unfinished rifles. I had 25 sets made, (it took a year to get them), and they fitted up perfectly to 20 of the rifles that I bought at the time. I had five spare sets that got sold/fitted for others that also bought the incomplete rifles and that was it. I tried for 20 years to find a reputable machinist that would reverse engineer and make more sets. I even loaned one a set from an original No.7Mk.1 I had here at the time and was lucky to get them back after a year with no progress. That was the end of it for me. There are no design drawings I know of unless they're buried at the Royal Armouries. They were built by BSA so the Royal Armouries may not even have them.
I had a BSA/UK No7 rifle for 30 years and so far as I recall, the only thing that would be difficult to reproduce would be the bolt head and the insert plate part for the No1 magazine. The remainder would be a doddle..., even the ejector. Two parts brazed together with absolutely no (or VERY little) mechanical loading to bear. Extractors could be cut 30 at a time using laser or water jet cutting. As could the aux spring. A simple fly-press jig to shape the slightly cranked end then anneal, harden and temper. I'd have got my teeth into that within a day or so.............
The BSA drawings are all at the Birmingham museum of science and technology and I understand that Aston Uni have some of the metallurgy research stuff
Peter, Any way to access the drawings from over the pond? I agree most of the bits I need could be fabricated but I have no drawings, dimensions or originals to work from.
No need I'd say. They would be simplicity itself to back engineer. Or a letter to BMS&T
