Hello together,
does anyone have an idea, with what price today a M85 is traded in the basic equipment? Good condition provided.

Axel,
If you can tell me a little bit about the rifle I am sure I can do that for you. Have you got the 00***F number please and the colour of the stock and whether it has a scope on it?
Hello Gil,
thanks again for your comments in the other thread. Here again the data:
The serial no. is 00251F. The stock is still original (camouflage color). The two original magazines are included as well as the included accessories. Top maintained and shot a little. What unfortunately is lost with me, is the orignal transport packaging. As a glass, I have mounted the Springfield scope A.R.T. IV. But that really belongs my M1A.
It would me only interested.
Axel
Axel,
Your M85 rifle was manufactured on the 10th March 1989 by Bill Smallwood at Parker Hale, no scope was ordered or fitted at the time of order.
The rifle fired a 10.3mm Group @ 100 yards with 10 rounds.
It was fitted to a Jungle Camouflaged McMillan stock and sold to Germany with 7 other rifle in the same coloured stocks.
Entry 227 Page 74 Cambridge Ledger Parker Hale Records.
I would value the rifle less the scope at between £4500 and £5000 pounds here in the UK. This is typical at the moment, but with a Schmidt & Bender /Swarovski 6x42 numbered scopes fitted at the time of purchase you can add another £1000 to the price For your information. Incidently none of the 8 rifles ordered by Germany had scopes. The metal military cases were so durable that it is possible they were reused for the next generation rifle, and the reason why they were not sold with your rifle.
If you look at an earlier thread last week on the M85 case I have attached the measurements should you find a case as shown in the picture there.
Hope that helps
Thanks Gil.
with transport packaging, I mean the "paper box" from Parker Hale! For many years a military transport box was offered. Unfortunately, I was so stupid and did not buy it.

Hallo miteinander,

Hello everybody,
That would take me well, too
Thank you
Guten Abend,
Danke. Oh.. .

Good evening,
Thank you. Oh ...
Had assumed that a foreign-language text would automatically translated into the preferred forum language.
Because my English will probably not be enough here. Do not want to make anyone work translating ..
Yes, the price for the M85 in the state as good as new-very well interested me too. Repent now that I did not buy it on one occasion, many years ago.
Thank you very much.
I might want to sell my Parker Hale. Would anyone be interested? Complete equipment from the factory without optics in woodland.
Pictures on request! Shipping would be done by germany!
Axel
Axel,
Could you put some photos up?
Hello Gil,
I think I'm too stupid to insert pictures or I do not understand the system !!!
Axel
Axel,
Once you have the images of the rifle stored in your pictures on your computer..........
Trawl down to Manage Attachments below here, click on there and follow the menu to your computers pictures, as long as your file extensions are listed its easy.....have a go, as its the only way people can see what you are trying to sell.

Axel
Axel,
Well done all on there.
That at least gives everybody a fair look at a great gun.
Clearly without looking at it, and not knowing what you have with it, other than a good M14 mag and a normal magazine supplied, it is £5500 GBP any day of the week, especially as it was bought originally by the German Army. Do you have the carrycase too?
Good Luck it will sell as the rifle has its own pedigree and not many made.
Hy Gil,
Unfortunately, I do not have the transport case! Also, the box of the original packaging has been lost!
Axel
Axel,
Still worth between £4500 -£5500 dependant on bore etc
Hi Gil
This is an old thread but I amwondering if you have any information on a Parker Hale M85 serial number 00324F, which I was told was built on 14-11-86. I find this date a little odd as the other M85 lower serial numbers not in your provenance checks are later than this date.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Regards
Steve
Steve,
As per PM but for the benefit of all future PH M85 owners I will repeat the 100% information from Bill Smallwoods own daily work sheets I hold as the remaining Parker Hale history on most rifles sold.
The info you have there is slightly wrong so here goes:
Parker Hale M85 serial number 000324F was setup and finished on the 27th November 1986 along with 00287F/00333F/00325F/00318F by Bill himself as recorded in his rifle records.
Your rifle is recorded as shooting 15.5mm group @100 yards 10 rounds 0.3777 no scope requested and sold to a HOME SALE in the UK nothing else logged.
Hope that helps you and others who might be interested.
The query is often why did PH never do consistant numbering like 1, 2, 3 on numbering, when you find out the answer to that, you'll probably have found the Holy Grail. It frustrated the men that worked there too!!!;)
