Hi Folks
I am a new Member. 30 Plus years collecting experience
Good day to all, I am new to this forum. I am a CGN member also.
I have an Enfiled NO4 mk1. Have learned a bit already on this forum.
Take care all.
New member here, interested in milsurps and using this site as a reference.
So far a Tula 1943 Mosin Nagant 91 30, a Norinco SKS (got me started-but probably not a true milsurp), a CZ858 (same as the Norinco) plus the usual hunting rifles. Next would like a piece of canadiana-a Longbranch LE.
Cheers.
halhunt and sarge, welcome aboard.
Hello all, I'm a refugee from surplusrifles.com and am active on THR I got into milsurps very young... my dad bought me an Italian Carcano (no at the time I did not know about JFK, but my dad went to Italy in WWII) when I was 11 y/o. That rifle is long gone but I have others to take its place.... Yugo SKSs (2), Mosin Nagant 91/30, Indian LE 2a, and a Polish P-64 (not C & R yet but a great shooter). I hope to have a great time here.

Welcome aboard! I hope you all find the site and info useful :)
I'm not new :) but hello everyone
I'm also the woodchopper on CGN if you didn't know.
I have been many things, including a forester, but now I'm back in the Army again. But thats where my handle came from, Army guys calling me the woodchopper. :)
New member. Also on CGN under the same name. Have been collecting for 24 years.
Hello.
I started out 2 yr. ago with a Snider-Enfield, left to me by a late friend. I didn't know what it was. Since then, I've more Sniders, a couple of Martinis (Mark 1 and 3), a sporterized Fazakerley Mark 4, and an all-matching (including the magazine) 1918 RSA Enfield SMLE Mark III*. I'm in my late 50's, and starting late at re-loading for them all. The forums have been a great help, and the advice much appreciated.
Hi folks,
I'm new in this forum. I'm interesting Russian and German military guns.
do i need an introduction ? ;)
I collect German rifles&militaria will be looking for your help soon regarding some Mosin Nagant rifles.
I'd like to thank the guys who set the site up; your knowledge in this field is an asset to all us new collectors.

Good day Ladies and Gentlemen! I am listed on CGN by the same name. I'm sure it will be a pleasure exchanging information and hardware with you.
Hi guys. I collect US and German weapons from WWI and WWII, along with Virginia State Police stuff.
Looking forward to participating. Been doing this for over 35 years.
snipershot1944@yahoo.com
I'm glad we installed this thread, because it's showing one thing that makes me very happy, which is there are one heck of a lot of people signing up who are as old, if not older than me ....
Welcome to all ....
Regards,
Badger
I spent most of my time reading threads on here before actually posting! I just started my milsurp collection recently, I have 5-6 Enfields and a couple Martinis. I just bought my first bayonet a couple weeks ago.
P.S. I'm not old
Welcome! :) Some of us ARE old. Don't rush to be there!
Shermans? I thought Badger started out as an engine wiper in the MkI Male tanks?:p ;)
Ok, easy now you guys.... ;)
The proper name was M4A2E8 Sherman .... :p
Brings back memories .... :)
Here's some 40+ year old pics from my very first day on the tank ranges as a fresh young Crew Commander. Two of my first few engagements (different tanks) at 1,500 to 2,800 yards were captured in the color pics below. What the second one didn't show was the result of the 76mm back blast spinning me around in the turret, blowing my beret off my head and over the back deck, plus burning (singe effect) my eyebrows and hair bad enough that it crumbled to the touch. :) Of course, I straightened myself up and tried to look "very cool" to all of my buddies watching.

Norinco M305
Remington Rand 1911

Is the 1903 restorable? (ie, uncut barrel, not drilled and tapped) RIA 1903's aren't exactly growing on trees in Canada and resto parts are available.
Moosefondler here, another crossover hit from CGN. Actually by making this single post I have almost equalled my post count there in over a year and a half of being a member!
Half Australian, Half New Zealander now Canadian I have had the rare privilege of visiting the Lithgow Small Arms Plant and Museum in NSW, Australia. I am particularly interested in WW2 Russian weapons but it would be downright slap-worthy of me not to hanker for a collection of SMLEs and all the good colonial tools of Empire. Looking forward to drinking deep from the well of collective knowledge of the great guns of the past.
Hey Everyone,
I have admired this site for some time now...Great JOB!
Hi Iam new here been collecting and blasting for 40 years .

Hi guys. I've been a shooter for years, but I'm just learning to appreciate some of our military history. Some really beautiful and interesting stuff on here. I look forward to larning more!
I'm another CGN member who has come to visit. I've had LE No 4s for years and have recently inherited a Brazilian M1935 Mauser that I've been looking for information on. Found the info here! Thanks for a great reference site.
The 1935 Brazilians are some of the nicest Mausers ever made - congrats on that one!
Hi all, new guy here, same name as in CGN. I have had an interest in guns all of my 51 years. Tried a bunch of differant activities, always came back. I currently own 3 lee enfields that I shoot whenever I can.
Hello all
I am new to this site and have been collecting milsurps for only 2 years.
I still have a small collection: a Swede M38, a AG42B and a M91/30. Next on the list to get is an aussie #1 and a longbranch #4,
ultimately a genuine  mosin sniper would be great.
Hi my name is David,I'm a westerner .My first one is a SKS,and I guess the bug bit me bad.I now own about 6 and hope to buy more.
I have just registered as a new member of the board.
Some of you will know me from other places as FNC1 or Skyrooster I am well known in the Thunder Bay firearms community and go to the Brandon and Calgary show every year.
My plan is to reduce the collection and pick one or two specific directions instead of the current shotgun approach, so I will be on the board from time to time selling items.
Of course if the recent gun show at Dugald is any indication my plan of reducing the number of guns continues to go awry...I sold 2 and bought 6.
Joe
I am a new member here....site looks great....I have learned quite a bit already!

Having weathered the sh** storms of C-17,C-68,& the brutal orders in council & having witnessed many a Collector liquidate,--- the safe's still standing & I'm almost content with the collection , although still looking for an elusive few unbubba-ized or undewated certain pieces of history .

Hello All! I am a newbie here but I like what I've seen. The article about the wire-wrapped SMLE Grenade throwing rifle is excellent, since I have one! Mine is an Ishy No1 MkIII* made in 1948 in .303. The bore looks brand new!

Hello everyone,
I'm ENFCOL, a rather round, balding, older type of man who enjoys collecting, shooting and researching Enfield rifles. I reload my own ammunition for precision target and varmint shooting as well.
Thank you for having me here, I'm looking forward to finding a lot of valuable information and hoping I may have some to share as well.
Best regards to all,
EnfCol

Hello - I've been collecting for about six years. I have eight Mosin Nagants (two Russian M44's, a Russian M38, a Russian 91/30 sniper, two Finned M91's, and two Finn M39 Sako's), three Yugo Mausers (a M48, a M48A, and a M98/48), one RC German K98 (Semi-Kriegsmodel), one Turk M38 (reworked GEW 98), one Chech VZ24, four SKS's (a Chinese Norinco, an Albanian, a Yugo M59, and a Yugo M59/66), and one Romanian AK 47.
Just wanted to say hallo to all before I started to wander around. Just started into recreational shooting and milsurp collecting. Hopefully I will be able to expand my knowledge here.
Cheers

Welcome guys, hope you enjoy the site.
A big hello to everyone.
I'm a newbie to this forum and look forward to learning a lot more about military surplus weapons and accessories from all you contributors. My main interests at the moment are leaning towards the Swiss Afk55's and the K31's. I am on the hunt for a K31 as I reckon I'd have to sell the house to get a Afk55. I suppose I wouldn't need a house anyway as a divorce would probably quickly follow the purchase of an Afk55.:)
Hope to connect with some of you soon
All the best from 'Bonnie Scotland'

New member checking in. On another far less formal/structured forum under the same name and milsurpshooter.net as Marius4747.
I got into collecting milsurp after college, but was interested in it for years earlier, mostly helping a few people I knew research rifles they bought. Right now I've got a growing collection of 13 rifles, ranging from a dime-a-dozen Soviet m91/30 to a very nice m28 in a ski stock. No real emphasis yet (I'm trying to build the breadth of my collection and get representative pieces of the major arms), although I'm a major fan of Swiss and American arms in general.
I'm also currently enrolled in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a graduate student studying modern German history. (Milsurp. . . history nerd. . . notice a pattern here?) In fact, I'm typing this post while waiting at a gate for a flight out there for a history conference I'm attending.
I can read and speak German so I'm available if anyone has anything interesting to translate - like many grad students I have more time than sense and find even the most mundane paperwork interesting to translate.
Edit: I almost forgot. You people seem to be mostly Canadians, judging by the references to CDN and the provincial flags that were the default avatars. I'm an American and an Oregonian by birth. I feel for your less than stellar firearms laws, I really do, but I also deeply envy your relatively inexpensive SVT-40s.
Greetings all. I am also a CGNer with exactly two milsurps. My first was a No5 Mk1, the latest is No4 (something) that I saved from "Bubba." She's missing her bolt and 3/4 of her furniture but was spared the saw.
Look for me to be asking lots of questions about her identity and how to get her back looking as good as she did when she was young.

Welcome all, I've only been collecting milsurp a few years, Its more than just a hobbie, it's a way of thinking-SDH
Have been hanging out here for a while, but not posted. Into hunting and shooting, interested in Milsurps, but only own one Long Branch so far. This is a valuable resource board for milsurp collectors, hope to learn lots of good info.
Howdy Y'all,
I've been collecting, or rather "accumulating" guns for about 50 years, and just recently got around to looking at military surplus. So far I've acquired a CZ 52 and an SKS. I'm primarily interested in pistols and revolvers but I don't turn down anything that shoots. I'm here to learn.
Cyrano,
Maybe when you're done school you can translate "The Three-Line Rifle" into English. I'm sure that would endear you to the world-wide Mosin-Nagant community.
Milsurps.com is a Canadian based site, though I do believe our server is in the US. As you noticed, most of our membership is Canadian, though we do have members from all over the world. As we grow, I'm sure our membership will become more diverse.
Did I mention I bought a Finn-marked SVT for $275?;)
Welcome.
Nice to see you all. Glad to be aboard. Have only a year experience, but you gotta start somewhere.

Hi! I'm new to the shooting sport, and am realy enjoying it. I have a Mini 14, and just got a Mauser 8mm of Yugoslavian origins in real good condition. I put 60 rounds through it the other day, and am impressed. My next purchase is an Enfield, if I can find one.
Hi, I'm a big fan of Lee Enfields and I own a nice Lithgow, Long Branch, and my favorite of all a No.5mk1 in great shape. I do a fair bit of hunting with the No.5 and it excels in the woods as you might imagine. I'm a C&R holder and enjoy stashing away as many milsurps as humanly possible.

Hi all,
Just recently inherited a FAZ N0.5 and a sporter MkIII. Before this I had very little experince with Enfields but now I must say I LOVE that No.5. I'm going to start reloading for .303 as I also inherited some reloading gear and have ordered the deluxe rifle die set from Lee. The reloading articles on this site have been a HUGE help!
Look forward to hanging out here.
Cheers

New to here but also a CGN guy. Mil surplus? Enfield, Mauser, Mosin, Tokarev. alway buy them to shoot them. Just like my dear old pop did. But he collected them and shot them. Wish I had some of the stuff he had.
