Bill, Both the M1 and M1A1 TSMG had a higher cyclic rate of fire more than that of the M1928A1. Even a
waiver was issued by the War Dept in Dec 1942 concerning the M1 Thompson's cyclic rate which often
exceeded 800 rpm being closer to 900 rpm

Other pic in this series also posted, we figured these were ARVN troops on exercise. Looks about right... As for the brine soaked T-Guns, let me go through them for a bit and I'll find something to resurrect. Just some glass beading and woodwork, maybe a new barrel. I've seen some pretty washed out barrels shoot OK for a sub gun. Maybe new springs...
