Here is one for you Charlie.
I just picked up three stocks and one of them happened to be a war time replacement made by Robert Irwin and so marked IR in the sling well with the ordnance bomb stamp.
But this had to have been on an import carbine as it is stamped on the upper left side of the stock with "us 119046 mc" The condition of the stock is pretty good and off hand I would guess it was on a return from Israel. Now what do you think the US and the MC would stand for???????? The letters are much smaller in size then the numbers.

Here is where I found it.
I believe A 6 digit Inland, because the OP say's it's early. But Bubba decided to spray paint the metal.... He might have also added the US MC markings while at it.
