M1917 receiver very possibly with a P14 bolt magazine and follower?
P14's didn't get the flaming bomb proof stamp so that was easy enough. Although it's possible to work with a rifle without a safety speaking for myself I would never want to field one.
M1917 receiver from the looks of the markings peeking out from under the rear scope base.
Thanks guys.
Cannot believe I got this for <$200 TMD!
If bore is fried, I'll part it out, Unertl bases are worth 1/2 the price.
If I wanted a big bore I'd send it to JES and get a 35 or 400 Newton, add a Timney with a safe but I've given up on hard kickers.
More to follow when it arrives.
Nicely done that receiver. Far better than most, though the removal of the safety is a bit bizarre.
I think I see the M of MODEL under the scope block.
