Just curious... I see very little chatter or excitement relative to the CMP 1911 program that started taking applications for their lotteryblsst last week.
Why the apparent lack of enthusiasm?

There's plenty of chatter on the CMP forum on this subject.
Where would I locate that?
OK thank you I got it. I thought maybe that was a reference to a topic here on Milsurps.
I sent my order packet in on 09/06/2018 so my number will be in the pot. May be a year or more before my number comes up if I get a number over 8000 or maybe will get a low number. 09/04/18 to 10/04/18 is the open window for orders then no more until they fill all the complete orders received during that time frame. They estimate maybe 75000 orders. ???
Now my wife wants to send in a packet also.
I have to get my popcorn ready as the CMP 1911 FORUM is amusing because it seems like people can't read simple instructions.

You’ll have to keep us updated. I’ll be interested to see the quality that comes out. I’ve worked with a couple guys that were issued one in the 90s. They didn’t speak to kindly about the condition of those!
CMP 1911 Forum had 1 person post today that he had a call from the CMP 1911 and was only offered a service grade pistol and they wanted his payment method.
Boy did that start the chatter. After a while someone from CMP posted that they have been calling people.
I think a lot of the people that sent in packets, if they are offered a pistol will never post on the 1911 Forums. As this was the case with the M1 Carbines when they were sold a while back.

PS- You can buy a new 1911 for what these are selling for but you won't get the history that comes with these old war horses.:ugh:
Thank you for the update.
