K11 stock wear mark
Just picked up this K11, and noticed the dark patch on the stock. Evidently, it was worn down by rubbing on a piece of kit. I am curious to find out what this might have been, and thought someone might recognize this sort of abrasion, and perhaps infer Rebeaud's MOS. By serial number this carbine was built in 1927, if that helps. Bit of a stretch, I know. Thanks for looking.

That is a nice looking K11. Don't know about the dark spot. I have a M1 Carbine that had a similar area on the stock, and several people thought that it may have been caused by something hot, possibly even a hot barrel laying on it. Whatever, it gives it some character.

Thanks. Doesn't appear to be a burn, more like a long term abrasion on something. I've seen pics of Italian bicycle troops with their carbines strapped across the front, rather than behind. Perhaps this was caused by miles ridden with the stock rubbing on an ammo pouch. Just dunno.

Finally figured it out. Bought a sling for it, and guess where the keeper button hits. Looking for something complicated, and clean overlooked the obvious. Not the first time, unfortunately.
