Does anyone know anything about this bayonet?
Japanese type 38. National Denki manufacture.
Thanks Aragorn243
The only thing I could find ( only in the last hour ) was that it might be a type 30. Early to mid war production.
Thanks again
Type 30 is correct, not 38. I was thinking rifles but it was originally designed for the type 30 rifle and used on the 38's and 99's without change other than cosmetics.
Yep, Type 30 Japanese. Interestingly, the cross guard / quillon on that sample is straight. LATE production?
The original Type 30 was the inspiration for the British Pattern 1907 bayonet, hooked quillon and all.
Straight quillion would be late production as far as the bayonets are concerned but early to mid war (WWII) production as suggested. Much too well made to be late war.
