M1907 Sling Question

I'm posting this here since the M1 forum gets a little more traffic than the 03 and the M1907 leather sling was used on both. What was the length of the sling "short strap" and "long strap" on the WWI M1907 sling? THANKS

1907 sling, the long strap is 52in lenth 18 adj holes starting from the hook/frog end every inch, from the loose end of the long strap, 16 adj holes every inch starting from the botton and working up.

For the short strap 26in lenth, 13 adj holes starting from the hook/frog with a 2in overlap for the loop.

I just checked several om my M1907 slings and the long strap is 48 and the short strap is 24. I do have some with longer straps but that is from use and the leather stretches.
