Two sporterized stocks back in full trim
First up is a GEW88. This is a beech stock that was cut about 2' forward of the band. I cut it back and treated it like a duffle cut. The owner was able to source a Walnut donor for the forestock. The numbers matching half was covered in Bubba goo so that came off too. Thanks Greg.

The second is a M1917. The joint is where the stock finally ran straight from being rounded. This stock required extensive wood working to make perfect. If not for the grain and the seem no one would ever know these where two separate stocks.
Thanks Mike.

I couldn't be happier with your work Warping
Here is a photo of the rifle reassembled.
Its a shame someone cut the fore-end off a matching 1917 Schilling, but Warpig's awesome work stripping the goo, splicing and staining has allowed this rifle to look respectable once again.
