These look so good in shadow boxes on the wall. Fantastic war trophy.
Here she is with a period correct series 94 Type 30 Kokura/Hikari Seiki made bayonet.
Hi,
When did they start using the straight ricasso on the type 30 bayonet?
I have a series 4 Nagoya and I thought they all had the curved ricasso
Not sure when. Like the rifle itself, it is a transitional example.
There is some discussion as to whether the scabbard is correct. It appears to be an earlier example with the ball tip. Not being even close to an expert in these things, I do not know. I have seen pictures of earlier bayonets without the ball tip scabbard as well as later ones, such as mine, with it. However, I do not know if the ones in other pictures are actually correct.
Either way, I picked up the rifle (with ammo) for $250 and have $50 in the bayonet.
