A favour from members who are lucky enough to own a trials rifle with its original rear sight.....
I'm after the details of the spring and plunger (dimensional details ideally)
Many Thanks

Do you just have a ladder that you are looking to make up into a fully working sight?
Yes
After quite a few years of searching I've got a ladder on its way
Me too, from the States?

I will be doing the same as you
There's no plunger, it's only a ball bearing and if you measure the hole with a vernier or plug gauge you'll find out what size is required. I'm afraid I don't recall except that it is possibly a few thou larger than the major diameter of the shank on the later plungers. The ball bearing idea wasn't a great one as the small contact area no doubt soon led to deformation of the hole and looseness in the sights.
A plain cylindrical plunger made up with a half round end would be another option if the hole is too badly worn at the top to hold the sight consistently enough for shooting - if one wanted to shoot such a rifle.
Indeed
Coming home, as the rifle its going on did
I'll try to get ahold of a micrometer this week and take mine apart.
