Is This Spare Parts Container an Original?
Evening guys. I posted a couple days ago about a new 1915 ‘03 I acquired recently. I have yet to receive any replies, but I wonder if this isn’t more interesting and my drum up more of a response...I found a spare parts container in the buttstock of the rifle! Not knowing what it was, I did a quick online search and discovered that original spare parts containers are rare and valuable. After asking the seller (vendor on gunbroker) if he knew anything about it, he replied that he did not know that it was in the rifle, but he wasn’t surprised as the rifle came from the estate of an “advanced collector”. It looks exactly like the ones that have sold on the internet for hundreds of dollars. What do you guys think? Is it the real deal? I'm new to the 1903 world and would greatly appreciate your insight. Thanks.Attachment 107127Attachment 107128Attachment 107129Attachment 107130Attachment 107131
