Webley MK VI markings
Hi,
I am interested in determining the meaning of particular markings on my 1918 Webley MK VI. The first is on the top of the frame, just below the hammer. It is a V in a circle.
The second is on the hammer itself. All numbers match except the hammer, which on the right side has a number beginning with a 2. The second number appears to be a 8 over a 9 or visa versa. There is also has a small D. Each side of the hammer is marked with the 'Broad Arrow'.

The frame marking is actually a broad arrow inside a C. That was the military acceptance marking during WWII. The 2 marking on the hammer is a type 2 hammer marking.

The broad arrow in the C denotes Canadian Military ownership.
