Got a pretty dang good deal on it. Serial number is 66C**** with a B underneath it. I tried googling but didn't find much.
There's also what looks like a sideways sickle under the designation.

The sideways sickle is actually the US "flaming bomb" inspection stamp.
Your rifle will be 1943.
Production ended near 1,100,000 in mid- late 1944.
Rather than adding anothe digit in front of the C letter prefix, they went back to 0c and added a 5th digit after the letter prefix.
The Savage-Stevens operations routing sheets show that the B was added as one of the last stages of work, but at present we don't know what it signifies.
