Spanish Garrison Cap
Today's flea market find. Not sure of the year but all I've seen are listed as either Spanish Civil War era or early 1940's. It is missing it's button unfortunately. They are wooden. I've seen two types but suspect the one may have been a replacement as the other was the same on two different hats.

I think that it is a "Spanish Legion" cap with the red "tassel" and string.

The Legion hats are different, they don't have the fold over tabs. I think they also have four different colors of tassels depending which tercio they are, red, yellow, white, blue. I've found half a dozen of these for sale so far and all are identified as regular army or nationalist hats. I've only seen one of the legion hats for sale.
