Hope not, they need as much help as they can get and they certainly didn't need this...........mind you none of us did!
Run on toilet paper here. Civilization is a fragile thing and it seems as if modernity has not changed that. Perhaps made it worse as communities do not seem to be as close knit.
I have a new Milsurps sponsored invention THE BIDET, now wouldn;t that fashion icon of the past be a good thing to bring back??
I have a well, so I’m covered:lol::lol::lol:
Now serious. Nothing happened today.
I’m very surprised, since the sources I received the info from are extremely dependable.
Better so.
My town is a ghost town. There are more people walking on the outskirts, in the middle of the vineyards, than cars driving around.
Peaceful, so peaceful that it seems wrong. And is wrong, actually.
Today fatalities reached a new record here.
I had a wonderful teleconference with my mates from Officer’s School. We all connected via Internet and had a “remote” aperitivo.
A real morale booster.
Ovidio,
Thank you for taking the time to keep us informed. I have been sharing some of your information with my friends here to add some reality to what some are calling nothing of consequence.
The President made a speech concerning the US response and it seems all they want to do there is criticize him. I sat here and watched it and about halfway through it and don't get me wrong I don't believe we are there with this but I suddenly got this feeling that this is how the end of the world it going to feel like. Someday in the hopefully distant future a leader is going to tell us to be calm, that we will get through this and a month later we are in the Mad Max world. I'm going through my daily business as usual but I have tried to find a small bottle of hand sanitizer for my truck for three days now and the shelves are always bare, even when my app tells me they are still in stock. Parking lots are full at all the grocery stores, carts are full but other than no toilet paper or hand sanitizer, the shelves are full of everything. The only shortages we have are those created by ourselves.
I feel here like some Islands and say N.Z etc that being isolated from other land masses may keep us from a full impact the thing with this is travel is so affordable to allot and many areas of the earth are now accessible to the bi-peds so the spread of this Covid-19 is easilly achieved. What I fear is if it morphs and starts infecting animals like birds or pigs swine flu, like black leg in cattle then the poop has not only hit the fan it has disabled the engine. Rest assured the dignitaries and rich listers all have a plan and a safe area to go to, we the plebs will have to ride it out try to survive and see whats left after the tempest. Just grab the gunnels and see if the boat stays up right look after your family and selves keep hygiene on the top level people.
Hand soap is better than handwash my sister inlaw (An E.D nurse) showed us using a black light the differences the soap makes it so the bacteria cannot stay on your skin the anti-bacterial wash just left allot of bacteria in the crevices and lines in the hand as not all people are as meticulus using the sanitiser so buy up on soap if you have to.
Last poll I saw here, 25% admit to buying more than they usually would. That of course is enough to upset the toilet paper supply chain. I'm still not sure what connection toilet paper has to Coronavirus, unless one plans to use it instead of paper handkerchiefs? Perhaps the satisfaction and sense of security one gets from having am extra case or two the stuff on hand is reason enough? :D
Probably those who are driving half an hour to get to Costco and reportedly lining up an hour before the place opens, haven't realized they can buy all the ---wipe they could ever want at their nearest janitorial supply company. To say nothing of disinfectants.
Reference the bidet comment above, all jokes aside, one might wonder how many tons of fecal matter are smeared over first world backsides on an annual basis which might be better sent down the sewers with the rest? More than one e-coli infection can be traced to that source I'm told. Besides, most of us don't use our left hands at the dinner table anyway.
And for those of a conspiratorial bent.:ugh:
