Hi I am 88 years young, still interested in militaria and firearms and all the interesting threads, what a fountain of knowledge, will tell you about my lee enfields one day soon.
Gidday,
New to this site - am based in Queensland Australia.
Have had a good read of many posts on .303 rifles with plenty of advice
Am the now proud owner of 1945 SMLE ex Police rifle and also a 1945 No 5 Mark 1.
Cheers ...
New to this site, I'm an old, retired guy.
FYI, I am more of a shooter than a collector. :)
I do have a few military surplus firearms I have picked up over the years.
I started hand-loading in 2008, but just recently starting to load for my '42 Kar98k, I hope to use it this year for deer/hog hunting.
Hi Y'all...
As Title sez... Jes an OF check'n in...
Real serious into Mil-Surp mostly from mid '90s to ~2010 or so, til ran outta space and had, as Dennis Kroh of Empire Arms sez to me, 'Looks like you've gone from collector to accumulator...' Seems that I had...
Looked at getting back into Road Rac'n and after disabusing myself of it being possible financially or worth ah hoot relative to what it used to be, found an alternative that was affordable and satisfied my 2nd love with High Performance Driving, to wit: Instructing High Performance Driving... So found that while it didn't pay in most cases they would comp Instructors with track time which for average 2 day event was worth ~$400-$700, so got accepted by a dozen or so orgs and was able til recently to make 12-15 events a year...
While refrained from continuing to load up on yet more 'stuff' with no time to enjoy I've maintained an interest in Mil-Surp and from time to time checked into whatever source was convenient and interesting...
Interest is in a wide selection of Countries, Years, Wars, etc. particularly in anything Swedish, given their ubiquitous quality and attention to detail in production and rearsenalling... ya jes can't hardly find one what ain't in pretty good condition, if not dang near pristine and ALWAYS accurate as it gets in rack grade battle rifles...
In process of divesting of some of the 'stuff' soes to not leave a helluva mess for the SO to have to deal with...
Reckon that bout covers it fer now...

Bonjour,
I'm a franco british collector with too little money and too many dreams. More of a shooter than a collector, but by several strokes of luck and idiocy I have started building an already interesting little collection. Most recently I have picked up a keen interest in Diopter sights and have decided to start sniffing and knowledge related to them.
see you later
I just stumbled across this site, I hope to be able to contribute as much as I glean. I love to shoot, anything, but prefer a good rifle over pistol. And I do love a milsurp firearm!
So howdy, hello, 'sup and pleased to be met!
Until today, I had never even held an enfield. Does the bolt always pop back when opened?
Now that I am retired, I need some new toys
