Years ago, '03 bbl fronts, were grafted onto garand stubs. Garand bbls were in short supply at that time.

I have a 1270xxx SA receiver (1930's) with a new, 4 groove, RA 6-44 03A3 bbl, ("tell" is the 03a3 front sight), but all the old 03 hardware, only the bbl and stock are not original.

I picked up a -1 and -2 rod, both modified with the early style relief cuts.....both on restoration projects now....-1 on 86xxx, and -2 on 190xxx.
There is a cut -1 on GB right now.

My 190xxx does not have the circular recess.....

My 687,000 with a 6-42 bbl, (Brit Proofed), has an H on it. I always wondered about it.

Has anyone ever found a "rebuilt" Gas trap LL Garand, as the original specs called for, for shipping to the UK?
