What is going on?
I recently reloaded some 7.62 x 54r for target work with my MN. I was using winchester brass, standard large rifle primers and Hornady .3105" 174 gr FMJ/BT. I don't remember...
I just picked up a box of Hornady 174 gr .312 bullets to reload for my .303 #1 MKIII. I have a can of Varget and am looking for a beginning load.
Suggestions? Hodgdon suggests a starting load of...
Finally slugged my rifle barrel and measured the bullets.
First off, I purchased the bullets shown and they are supposed to be Lyman #266673. They measure .2625 just forward of the gas check,...
:bow:Thanks for hanging in there with me on this one. I'm definitely learning as I go. Thanks too for the photo of an original cartridge.....very helpful (and I thought I was launching a torpedo!) ...
Thanks for the suggestions guys!
Not sure about the Trail Boss though. I've used it with my 1932 Russian Mosin Nagant to produce excellent accuracy under Beartooth cast bullets. I was hoping for...
:sos:What Gives?
I love my super accurate 1909 swedish mauser and have been shooting 120 grain match kings over 35.5 grains of Varget, or for reduced loads, I've been shooting the match kings over...
Got a question for you experienced reloaders......?:sos:
Is there a rule of thumb for determining LOA. I just picked up some cast 150 grain gas checked/ lubed 6.5mm bullets to reload for my...
Just found this thread and thought I'd drag it out again and ad my $.02 worth.
I shoot two milsurps, my Swedish mauser and mosin nagant. All machismo aside, when I shoot the mosin with...
I agree with JMOORE, if you like it it was a good deal! Could you have saved a few pennies.........maybe, but probably not much in the condition you described.
I recently purchased a 1909 for a...
JMOORE,
Well, I'm there with you..... and like you after too many rounds to count I'm sure not a master, but I get a lot of satisfaction over time with the little lessons I learn and the little...
I've been hearing a lot about Appleseed Project shoots and found a couple of unofficial downsized targets meant to be shot at 25 yards.
I shot these two targets with my 6.5 Swedish Mauser. Both...
Gunner:super:
Great shooting, great rifle and great ammo! Which model Annie are you shooting? .22's are far under-rated in my book. What more can I say?

I'm happy to say that I purchased some PRVI brass and have had no problems since. Brass shows no problems and I'm a happy camper. I'm only neck sizing after firing once and using...
Thought you guys might be interested in some of the results I have been getting using reduced loads for my 91/30 MN and my Swedish Mauser.
For the Mosin I've been reloading with Winchester...
I think I can see where the problem is. I'm going to try to take a few pics and post to see what you guys think.
I'll try to get the pics up this evening.

First let me say that I love my Mosin 91/30. I shoot cheap and accurate reloads in mine and find that the simple mechanics of the rifle works well for me. But I'm having one problem..... ...
I lucked out with the trigger on mine. Of course it's no target rifle and yes it's heavy, but mine is crisp and pretty smooth.
Just got back from the range.
I was shooting my mosin at 60 yards from a bench with open sights, 6 o'clock hold and tired eyes. As you can see with my reduced load of 12gr. Red Dot and 135...

Since I'm only a target shooter/plinker, I reload with reduced loads (135 grain cast bullets and Red Dot). With the reduced load and a 6 o'clock hold my rifle is dead on and quite accurate besides....
I know this sounds like a pretty basic question but..........:help:
I've been surprised lately when visiting local gun shops to see people dry firing Mosins, Swedes and Enfields without thought or...

The washer fix works like a charm. I tried it out on several of the poor cases. I was worried that with the washer I might have trouble getting enough change in the neck size to firmly...

Many thanks for taking the time to walk me through this. To be honest, I live in an area where everyone hunts, but almost no one shoots for fun. That means no reloaders, very few...

Thanks for all the suggestions and info!
Here's what I've decided to try. First, I sorted through the remaining Winchester brass (when I had my reading glasses and very bright light) and I...
