    Sounds about right. It certainly is not like any other inspectors mark I have seen, and neither is it a stamp from rebuilding, like AA (Augusta Arsenal) or ANAD (Anniston Army Arsenal).

    I don't think this gun was a Lend Lease because the serial number on the frame shows it was made in 1918. Much too early for Lend Lease which came about in the early days of WWII.
