Warren does truly remarkable work on these scopes.
Looks like it's made for line throwing - hook the pintle over the railing. point and fire. This type would eliminate recoil issue from heavy loads
I've got number 4895 in my possession - not dated

Mine is pine as well
Agree, if it were military issue it would have the second line of the identification - the patent date
Roger: I agree with your hypothesis that a particular subset of these rifles received new barrels and new fore ends from H&H. I say that because my 14C series less scope rifle has both. You would...
Savage No.4 MkI* dated 1942
S/N 14C0114
5 groove Enfield rifled barrel
Butt stock is annotated "S51" in proper place with proper font
Cheek piece is also walnut and secured with blackened...
For starters you would need to place shims in between the cradle pieces until the inside measurement is 1 inch in both the horizontal and vertical axes. Then you could have the rings bored to...
I like the Gun Parts Corp. scope better than I do the RSM that I have. The GPC scope looks identical and has the same reticle as an original MKI or MKII scope. The RSM reticle is way too "fat" and...
This is what the guy in Italy provided - I just have a cheap scope mounted but it does very well.

I sent you a PM - I'll loan a rail to you.

That mount also works with the AN/PVS-1 starlight scope - I have one and it's identical.

Warren repaired my scope as well. When he returned it he included a couple of business cards he had made advertising his scope service. He asked me to circulate those cards as I saw fit. He truly...
I know the man they use for this service - he is excellent with the No.32 scope.
I talked with the guy at Sniper Company and personally know the individual doing the No. 32 scope repairs. I have absolutely no doubt you will get a quality repair from their service.
I sent you a P.M. some days ago - did you get it? I, too, would like to purchase a No. 15 chest.
Jim
I just received a No.32 MKII scope with serial number 9052 and dated 1943. Is it my imagination or does the No. 32 MKII scope seem to be of better quality than the No. 32 MK3? I have both and it...
Federal Ordnance (a California company) sold many of those in the late 1960's (and later. I think they were made specially to go with the cobbled-together BM 59 kits Fed Ord was selling at that time...
I had an M53 Mosin that had a real tough time opening the bolt after firing. It was so bad the gun shop sold it to me cheap - as "needing repair". I got it home and soaked the chamber in Kroil...
I like it!
I wanted a chest for my No. 4(T) sniper rifle - but could not afford a real one. Then I noticed on page 74 of the Laidler/Skennerton guide to these snipes that at one time converted Bren cases were...
The rear sight on your rifle looks like it was just attached to the barrel with 2 screws - quite common for Williams sights. Just remove the screws, remove the sight and fill the holes with screw...
I have used a Weaver K3 (early all steel and from El Paso, TX) on my clone with good success. It holds zero well and is a lot more fun to shoot because the adjustments are so easy compared to a No.32...
When I sent mine out of the country for repair I wrote specifically on the customs form: "Antique scope sent for repair and return".
