Went out and shot the rifle at 50 yds after I got the bore in nice shape. Shoots straight as a die. There are still decent bargains out there under $400. Sometimes they may look a little rough.

What made it so cheap was the rust you can see on the front band and barrel. The bore had a lot of blue rust. I gauged the crown and and looked at the bore and it was rough but had plenty of rifling....

Was at a gunshow this weekend and saw this sat on a table. It was a little rough (pictures are post cleanup) but the price was right. Thought I would post some pics for everyone to see.

I have shot 125 gr with IMR 3031. They have shot very well for me out of a 44 Savage

I picked up 2 enfields today,
1) An Iraq marked BSA 1939 no3 numbers except bolt match, has an Iraqi unit stock disc. Will post more later.
2) A #'s matching Long Branch 1944.

Yeah the 0 bolt head and it's within spec on rotation to bolt and headspace. It also is bedded correctly.

Yes it does, very faint under the paint. So the serial on stamped on wrist socket and looks like electropencilled on side wall.Posted a picture below and the bolt.

Looks like you have a classic German re-issued VZ24. Here are the changes the germans made.
1. Remove cavalry sling loops. Front is usually just cur off/missing and rear has a wood plug.

I own a JJCO import rifle. One of the "put together rifles".

The look like nice as all the parts are brand new old stock. Mine was assembled in the Lithgow plant and has all the inspection stamps...
