I have installed Brass draws with brass screws and use shim to align the barrel down the forestock.
Sorry, unclear here. You want to leave it sporterised? or de-sporterise it? Converting mk1 stocks to mk2 stocks is pretty easy and that is how some 1/2 or 1/3s were done in FTR.
If I could buy that, at that price here in NZ. I'd take his hand off. My view differs from person above. for me an 1948 FTR'd LB in great condition is a little rare so I'd buy it because of this.
@Patrick totally agree, I asked to see the outside and how it was marked, as far as I am concerned if it doesnt have white stencils on it screaming UK its not "legit"

Yep I agree on "the Military way of doing things and has always been" which is what kicked off me thinking....
Yeah it looks good case. So its not legit in any way? If his comments were only its a good case, yeah Ok but he seems to think its some sort of legit L42 trials or "special forces" case.
Hi,
I have someone claiming this is a L42 case of some sort. Not knowing much about these things I'd like to know more. 86315
I suggested he post here in the public forums as if anyone knows...
Does there exist any decent engineering drawings? I am drawing up a lower in fusion360 and I'd like to make it as accurate as possible. So I am really interested around the draws and the angles,...

This sounds similar to the target rifle shooters complaints of the same period. A good battle rifle does not need to be a good target rifle, especially if its battle capability is then compromised,...

Seems a low number....so a very early UF?70444
1942 and 1943 LB's seems to be the predominant no4 here in NZ, something like around75% are LBs I think, maybe it was one ship load for both countries in 1943.....
No date, last communication (Dec) I have is he still has not had the promised parts from the US. He is talking about making some boat tailed ones off existing molds in the mean time. Seems to...

getting 5Xs that are not worn out is quite hard. They get collected by collectors of sights FFS and then ppl like me want to shoot the guns. The three I have are worn out.
From what I can find so far, yes I suspect you are correct. I have seen a few of "N" guns now but most if not all were also stamped "Fultons" This one does not appear to have been, so my thought...
Ive seen a few No4s in NZ with that threaded hole, I suspect the local owners to tight to buy a no4 central bracket just used their no2 mk3 bracket.
It is wood, it is repairable, I would.
Maybe you just are not engineers and/or consider that your life depends on the tools in front you and know how things can go wrong. and/or have the nature that you just want to know how it works. ...
for decades barrels and actions have been bedded by target shooters in good quality epoxy. If you are realy paranoid get a aluminium powder based one, and if an utter nutter, steel based...but i ...

If the barrel is original, unaltered and in good nick and the other metal work good then it suggests it is worth restoring. Pictures paint a 1000 words.
Well it says a lot about the site/seller selling it, like avoid dealing with them...
