????? Looking from the rear forward the right bolt is much shorter????
Thanks Gents. I should have separated into two postings the heads pace issue and the locking lug length issue. The head space issue I feel is OK. The head space issue is good using my coin field...
Here is a posting where I posted pictures. Thanks
Head spacing a P14
Thank you. I am confused on that. I just acquired 2 Eddystone * marked bolts. Both measured at .0633. Am I measuring these wrong? Thanks
Just finished measuring using my Mosin coin Field Gauge. Brian that is all I have at this point. All three bolts passed with flying colors. Before I found out that you could use the Mosin gauge, i...

Thank you Sir. Glad to know I have that option.
I have just been informed that a Mosin coin style gauge will work. I have one of those.

Thanks Gents. I did a search on the internet trying to find the Mil Spec .074 head space field gauge and had no success. Any suggestions where I might find one? They must be like hen's teeth. I was...
I have a Eddystone P14 with a * and a 2 on the receiver. The mismatched bolt that came with the rifle, did not have the * on the handle. I had fired about 50 rds through it with what appears to be no...

Volley front sight Looks all original to me. That’s the way I bought it and I never messed with it.
The front part of the volley sight is all there. Here are the pictures you requested thanks. Ed
I have the rifle completely apart and I find that my Eddystone rifle does have the "e" marking on most of the parts. A few parts have a "R". The rear sight ladder has a "W". I find no markings that...
Sounds like a nice rifle. I have several Span.43's all with different dates. My understanding is that 1958 was the last year for the 43 and after that they started taking the 43's and converting them...
Sir I took your advise and measured the barrel OD.
.650" @ muzzle
.652" @ front of front sight
.657" @ rear of front sight
Maybe someone could verify against a true carbine
Thanks for the...
Jon,I have seen a few sporter cut down rifles. I own a couple. All had after market or 1903 front sights. It is possible someone put some work into this one maybe trying to pass it off as a carbine....
Thanks for the comeback. No "C". Has a 1902 rear sight. Thats why I am thinking it is a cut down rifle but by who? Thanks
The stock is 32" and the barrel is 22". I understand the serial number has it made in 1899. Could this be a repair or refurbishment as talked about on page 66 of Brophy's book? Thanks
More PIC's. Thanks
After studying Brophy's book Pages 65-67 and pictures my rifle seems to be the same. If not can someone tell what is not right on mine. Thanks
Jon,thanks. This one had the real"C" marked rear sight, carbine handguard, stock and hardware. Had a JLA 1901 stock cartouche. No rear sling attachment. The gent decided not to sell it. I was trying...
Thanks for the comeback. Yep, I think it is a cutdown but it meets the criteria of a DCM carbine except as Brophy's comment that they if had a crowned muzzle. If I am reading his comments right,...
DCM carbine that was put together at Benecia Arsenal then sold to NRA members. Sorry no longer have PIC's. I know it did have a 03 front sight.
