    WTK - Value of a H&R USMC model 58

In excellent condition. I have come across one and have no feel for what its worth. All correct and unmolested in supurb condition. It is absolutely as you would expect it to be.

    I tried a search...
  2. I came across a Solders Handbook for the Model of 1917

And am wondering what its worth. Condition is pretty tough with some pages dogeared, cover stained, and individual pages looking water stained. All is there however, pretty neat little book. It is...

    Mounting bars and tools

I agree with M1 above. Mounting bars (last I saw) were around $500. There was a guy who was sometimes selling them on ebay but I have not seen any for a long time now. I would expect them to be even...

To my eye, I can see a pair of what were probably the original chisel marks on a flip sight at the far right side of the dovetail. It also looks like it was rebuilt 2 times based on the 2 different...

I had a similar experience. I was there the first day they sold the barreled receivers. I scored a couple of S'G''s that had muzzle wear of less than 1.5 and an Underwood that was just slightly less...

It should say on the op rod side of the barrel

take a picture of the barrel turned another 90 degrees (1/4 rotation) up from your current picture. On the side with the op rod arm it should say who made it.

This looks like a barrel off the...

    Dupage trading has them.

Go to Collectible firearms, military rifle stock, parts and militaria, M1 Garand stocks M1 rifle, 1903 Springfield. and you will see them under stocks. I have no relationship to them other than a...

    To make correct...

you will need a SA-11 safety and a curved side 9-SA rod. You could swap someone easily for the safety. You will want a SA-11 with the dash centered like you see here. Some are dashed low (bottom of...

I have not looked but I would expect you could get one from FUlton Armory or Orion 7 or maybe CMP. They make the job much easier.

Picked up a excellent Savage Model 19 NRA

  13. What I did.

I ended up replacing all of the internal parts, new extractor, springs & plungers, even firing pin. Lightly oiled everything, used a commercial bolt tool and put her back together. Took particular...

I found the thread that you spoke about. Everything is late parts, extractor does not look to have any damage. I will replace everything.

Thanks for the advise. That is what I was thinking. Glad...

I was using LC72 ammo. Bolt has the late extractor and late plunger. It has probably shot 1000 rounds without issue.

I suspect I will replace the bolt with a different extractor and springs and...
  16. My bolt came apart in a match! How to prevent this?

My bolt came apart in the most recent match. Shot the 5 sighters and 1 record shot, then the extracter failed to remove a spent round, looked at it and the extractor was standing tall over the bolt,...

Milling marks make it look like WRA to me....

but WRA usually has the punch mark on the underside of the clip. If you see a punch mark its most likely WRA. If you don't maybe 50/50 WRA or Springfield. WRA generally had lots of milling marks but...

    Thanks for the information.

I will look up the SKS stuff and see what I can do with that. At least now I clearly understand that you change the sight opposite to where you are hitting. Makes sense.

    THanks again!

    Front sight adjustment question.

YOu would think I would know this but I am not sure and don't wish to waste time or ammo.

    I do #1

Mostly because I don't like putting tension on the rear handguard clip. It is easy to break the rear handguard, either by chipping out a portion of wood at that location or causing a crack.

Hey Goo, get some Brownell's Dicropan....

much better than cold blue, it gives a nice "parkerized" appearance to the metal. I prefer the cream style as I think it is easier to blend.

    Just an FYI.
