I have A97167
The only other none molested 1937 dated action I have seen was at the Australian Arms Auction a few years.
It was paired with a consecutively dated action which was dated 1938. Both were...
As Homer said, I wouldn't shoot it. Is the nosecap and forend numbered?

Picked this one up recently. 1915 Lithgow sent to stores March 1916.
The Rifle is still sighted for MkVI ammunition and has no sold out of service stamps or any upgrades to HV.
It also still...
I have seen a few Lithgow's still sighted for MKVI. 1 X 1914, 3 x 1915 and 2 x 1916. So yes pretty rare. Lithgow No 2 magazines to go with them also pretty rare.
Very nice. One of my 53 Lithgow's is close F39926.
Credit to Demo for these photos of his No 2 Lithgow magazine....
On the No 3 case there is no Lithgow markings on it.

My No 2 magazine has a small 4.
My No 3...
Unfortunately I don't have the answers to your questions.
Attached is a couple of photos of my No 2 Lithgow magazine next to a magazine converted to No 3...
I'll pass as well. I would like to see detailed photos of the rifle though.
If it is as described and is genuinely unissued it will sell for over $2000. I base this on previous sales of similar rifles.
The seller would want to provide some good quality photos though so...
Nearly double what I'd be prepared to pay.
They have been trying to sell those over priced bitzers for a long time.
I meant low 4 figures with the first figure being a 1 [emoji12]
Wow [emoji50]
I'd pay low four figures for a good unmolested one.
When I get a chance I will look and see what my 1940 has.
Out of curiosity what other dates or marks on Lithgow cutoffs have you see?
I have seen small & large Lithgow star, MA, MA 38 and MA 41.
I would have to look through all of my cutoffs to see...
Even in my limited collecting time, I have never seen any cutoffs past the mid 1941 serial number range.
I have seen a few MA41 marked cutoffs. My 1941 has one.
Most of the 1941 MK111 that I see are either missing the cutoff or have been messed with and chopped down for hunting rifles.
I assume the serial number is F8711 not 8711?
This is the one that was missing from it's display case when I visited a few weeks ago.
Do they ever sell any of them?
Same ones seem to have been for sale for a long time.
Was that the one on its own in a cabinet? If so it wasn't on display when I was there a few weeks ago.
