Yes, the original kits are proofed as stand-alone. It would defeat the idea of proofing and barrel strength if the barrel could be 'proofed' inside a tight chamber where it couldn't be subject to...
I thought so............ But nice to be sure!
I'm not sure that you need to have it proofed if it is a personal import. I have brought in a couple of things and ain't never needed it yet.
If you've already acquired the rest of the bits, can't you just ask the maker of the new kits to send you a set of working parts.
As I remember it, there were TWO magazine inserts. There was the...
I'm sure we had mozzies and sand flies that big attacking my pale pommy skin and eating me alive at Shoalwater Bay/Rockhampton. They liked the bromide the cooks put in the tea!
Maybe it's time to chivvy him up again...... But as to prices, and I don't know the going price of a genuine L12 kit in the UK (any ideas anyone.....?) its the same old story. The remanufactured...
The kits are currently being reproduced in the USA, starting with an absolute shed full of spares supplied from the UK. I think the blokes details have been published on the forum a few times
The ELEY match is the stuff that is currently issued from Ordnance! Orange labels on the boxes but with Ordnance ADAC labels
Our H&K kits also cxame with a little dark red coloured H&K user handbook. Printed in English but some came printed in German! The little booklet had a code number in the Index To Publications...
Just cant quite see the lug on the right hand magazine but if it's there...., it's there!
Looks like a home made box to me. We had two sorts and none of them were like that! Looks like one of the magazines is from an FN, - missing the L1A1 front lug ?
£1,900 quid......... He's having a laugh AND taking the pi........, er...... being both stupid and greedy!! You're not being cheap BAR, you're being sensible!
Should be.........., I donated a whole stack of the parts!
Ooooops, duplicated the above thread!
They're mpre common than you think. The complete kits are being remanufactured in the US as we speak so you might browse through this thread and see who it is involved on the remanufacturing...
I'm afraid that it's bulged in place I'm afraid. It's not as though you can actually SEE the bulge either because it just doesn't show in the tight confines of the .22 barrel inside the 7.62mm...
I looked yesterday and it's reserved. Not cheap, but cheap for rocking horse horse shi.........., er....... manure! Especially since you can now own a straight-pull L1A1. And it's even cheaper...
I see that the main rifle dealers at Bisley has a sub calibre kit for sale if anyones interested. Probably not cheap.....
Yep, that'd work but ideally, you'd like to have full interchangeability. I think that the person who is manufacturing the kits will have it all sorted. Progress seems a bit slow at the moment I...
Big Duke and Tankie.......... Fitting the .22"/7.62mm interface block into a new magazine is easier said than done. I have done it on saveral/many occasions when they were the norm. The height of...
If I was looking for a load of the L14 sub calibre magazines big duke, I'd look at making up a jig that would hold the .22 magazine into the exact position within the larger rifle magazine then pour...
There you go............, straight from the horses mouth.
Where there's a will, there will always be a difficult way Nick......... That's a pretty pessimistic outlook if I dare say so. But, look on the bright side for a few seconds. These people have...
I know the sub-cal build well on its way to completion as we speak. I have to say that I have the greatest admiration for these people who put their money where their mouths are. That's the reason...
Export of a kit from the US to the UK should not be a problem at all. Once you have negotiated for one in the US, arrange for it to be sent to a knowledgeable exported and that's it. It'll be...
