You may be right on that Bob. Fulton also sells reproduction stocks. Not sure I would ever consider an aftermarket stock, as jimb mentioned there are far too many originals out there.

Yes, likely corrosive. I have read that there are 2 types of French ammo corrosive and noncorrosive. Think this is mentioned in the cmp thread link I posted in post #22.
