What bullets are you using? My Chilean 1895 really loves the 173 gr RN from Hirtenberger.
I've seen that site linked on other forums and that's where I got confused.
That site says to start 15% lower for TT-33 actions implying they are weaker. However in the replies after that site is...
So I just my M57 about a week ago. Looking into reloading, but I can't seem to find a straight answer for 7.62x25. Small or large bullets, magnum powder, TT-33/M57 vs. CZ52, etc. Also the majority of...
It sold for $160 including s/h.
So I found Bubba's cousins work as well!

I can't look at any more today. This is getting rough.
Gentleman, another spirited round of bidding and I'm out. I stopped at $35 and the guy went to $40. Hopefully one day the guy that gets this lovely slice of history comes on here for information.
I'll be careful. Got to keep a clear head and remember to not get emotionally attached.
Got into a bidding war with a guy. I'm currently leading at $16.
I'm considering posting a bid. Just so I can see this up close. Pictures aren't detailed enough to see the serials. I need to know if it was matching.
This is on Proxibid right now. No words.

Also no bids.
Sorry about the poor quality. They were taken in a hurry. I can see if he could get some others.
So I found these at a local auction years ago. I don't remember what I paid for them but I don't think it was much. The auction was for a WWII veterans things. Found amongst the stuff that he was in...
While visiting the in-laws this weekend we started talking about military firearms. I have a very small collection, so that seems to make me the "expert" in the family. This time my father-in-law...
Really out of my element here. My father in law has this Arisaka Type 99? His father had it before he was born. He was a veteran of the Pacific theater in WWII. The usual story being that he brought...
Well, finally finished. Decided to stop after 4 coats of pure tung oil. Very happy with the results. Took all the metal parts and gave them a good scrub and took apart the bolt and cleaned it out....
Two coats in so far. Starting to look really good. Took all the rest and gave it a good cleaning. Probably the most thorough cleaning it's ever had.

Spent a couple hours with a cloth and mineral spirits. Took a lot of dirt and built up crud off. It's really started to bring out the true color of the wood. Had to order the bronze wool and PTO....
That's why I picked it up, but I'd say it's a 20 footer. Looks good from that far, but not so much up close. Thankfully no major rust and the barrel isn't rough. The bayonet had some rust at one...
Thanks. Have never heard of bronze wool before, but I've used steel wool on other projects and it gets everywhere. This is also the first time I've seen raw linseed oil mentioned rather than boiled.
So I got my hands on a Type 53 and it's a bit rough. The stock looks like it's been dragged down a gravel road. The wood is extremely coarse, and there is no finish left at all. The only finish I...
So awhile back I got a FN-FAL at a local auction. I got it for a steal because it looked pretty fugly. Works great though and I decided I wanted to get it back to something a little prettier.
It...
This is the funniest thing I've seen in a while. Mine equally hard to shoot. Let a buddy try it at the range after he was ribbing me about how bad a shot I was. He took aim at a steel plate in a row...
Thanks for all the help guys. I found some RN on Graf & Sons' website. Got them ordered and we see how it goes.
Link in case any else is interested.
