If you look at "Wood Goes To War" made 1942 -1943 it shows H.M. & Co making No4 Mk1 furniture from both walnut and beech - I think that answers your question.

The handguard should have a flat relief to provide clearance for the Pecar scope. Everything else looks OK but as Thunderbox said it should be numbered.
