Everything I've ever read and even the pictures I've seen didn't present an image like this of Tarawa with abundant palm tree in full foliage.
For me it's a Hawaii favorite, Loco Moco. Bed of rice covered by a fried slice of spam and a couple of eggs, topped with some gravy.
The 442nd Go For Broke Nisei are another example of prejudices prove undeserved and wrong.
As a side note the Nisei love Spam. There are at least 4 different Spam cookbooks written by Hawaiian...
