Maybe you are thinking about peening or rolling the receiver to move the metal forward which is common practice
I've done this when the witness mark on the barrel goes beyond the receiver mark

I've done this when the witness mark on the barrel goes beyond the receiver mark
That's what I had to do to my 1903
After I lined up the witness marks on the barrel and receiver I ream the chamber until it just closed on a round
Yep you are right
guess that new math doesn't work so great:D
Shouldn't that be 60 years ago?
Heck I was 6 years old back then
Looks like a group of teenagers
I would say they are dang lucky to be captured by American Soldiers
Not really sure as I have zero knowledge or experiences with that scope
But wouldn't the index mark be where I circled on the pic
133797
Thank you Sir
Did the VI shooter site change domain
I have it bookmarked and it comes up file 404
Can't get much lower that that B17
I hate when people do that
Once you make a deal you should honor it
He is a moron
Don't worry about the cost
You have a really nice rifle
I have a Ruger 10/22 and a JC Higgens bolt action 22
The JC is way more accurate than the Ruger
You guys trying to get me to lose my job
How am I going to feed my kids
Thanks Bubba
I can't see a picture
Dang forgot about that
Don't know why since I have a 1903
and use the peep 99.9% of the time
That would make it a 1903a3 if it has a peep sight on the rear of the receiver
Looks like he is trying to hide something with his thumb
I will try and get there asap
I work a lot of Saturdays and I don't know which ones until Fridays
I don't have a M1 Garand but I do have a 1903 parts queen and an M1A
On your high power Saturdays...
Do you shoot at Polk County Gun Club?
If so that's about 20 miles from me an easy drive
If I have the time I would love to come up and shoot
I'm just a lousy shot cause I haven't the time to shoot...
Hello Mr Skeels
I see you are not that far from me
I'm just down the road a piece in Campobello SC
Yes shooting wood guns is fun
I've done several barrels like that
Just tighten it up
You could do it yourself
I re-barreled my 1903
Of course when I was first doing it I was scared sheetless:yikes:
Now that I've done several it is easier than I thought
Just follow your ABC's ...
It sure is
You also can try a different bolt
Some bolts are longer than others
