I think you are... These should have a normal long eared lower handguard. The wood was the same...the ears were permitted to be cut if one broke and the other didn't matter, apparently they weren't...

I'll bet the bore is about perfect, most I saw were even if the outside was rough. A quick bead blast and blue will change everything, you can clean the wood work your self with some acetone or...
