DA280 rifle and bayonet are in my possession, year of production 1915, serial number 48 GO, M68 stamped on the top of wrist of stock, as well as 280 stamped into the wood on the right side of the...
The bolt is mismatched entirely, the rest of the rifle is matching minus one of the bands. I'll get photos off once I find where the camera disappeared to (last place to look as always!)

New addition to the collection here a pre WW1 Gewehr 98 built by Danzig in 1901 and still retains the old 200m sight base however the sight itself is at the 400m setting.
Neat piece of history...
At least bayonet lugs are somewhat common unlike trying to find the middle band and screw talk about hens teeth (Anyone have a spare??)
I'm glad that it is being looked and cared for after even if it is a pain in the a** knowing some of the fellows from the regiment I'm not surprised! I've forwarded the pictures to one of the fellows...

Looks like this one went to the States as there appears to be the US Ordnance marking and serial number under the wrist. The Canadian serial number is on the buttstock which to me looks like 470 or...

D'oh I meant MK II 3* that one needs some more wood on it as well as a nose cap that is what I get for not proof reading and running on no coffee.

Excellent find Claven, I wish I had the same luck but for a MK II with markings to the Manitoba Rangers or 45th Bn CEF.
