I've got a PH5E I'd pop apart to check if you think that'd help.
In a pinch, get yourself a set of numbered drill bits and use the shank to get you in the ballpark. Stick the shank in the detent...
I have seen a few of those around.
Springfield Type 2.
Just finished working on 15 slings I bought as a bit of a pig in a poke. About half were dyed or painted and about a third are longer, presumably Bren slings. All unmarked on the brass.
I tried a...

It's been back up for several days now.
Thanks. Lots of conjecture out there and wanted to make sure nothing more definitive had cropped up since this thread: Could this be the reason for the FR markings ? | Gunboards Forums

Example pic of the marking in question on a No4 butt along with a ZF marked No 4 butt for comparison.
The rifle in question is wearing a No 1 stock with a stock disk cutout that has been patched....
Apologies, I tried to search first, but the search feature does not like "FR".
What is the current consensus on rifles with butts marked FR?
Indian/Pakistani?
Commonweath?

Looking for a late WWI or early 1920's web sling for a SMLE at the moment.

Were all web slings marked with...
There were two Tigercats at Airventure a couple of weeks ago. A Hellcat and at least one Wildcat too. IIRC they did a Navy heritage flight with one of the two Bearcats that were also there at one...

Before I file these two forends into my parts bin, have we established who made them/who they were made for based on the markings I posted?
Not sure if you found these guys: Mauser Broomhandle Barrel Restoration Redmans Rifling and Reboring
Never used them, just aware of them.
Yeah, these do seem a bit thick compared to the 2X spare Walnut stocks I've got here.
Tough to photograph, but here are the markings. Identical, but hard to see or get the camera to focus on unless you stand on one foot and hold your mouth just right.
Thanks to a buddy bird dogging them for me, I came into a pair of NOS No4 Beech No4 Mk1 forends on Thursday for a price so cheap the seller may as well have paid me to take them.
After wiping off...
Thanks Roger. I figure out who I previously bought my 4BA tap from and it looks like they have what I need for about $22 USD plus freight which isn't too bad.
I'm not sure what else to call it, but the divot in the track the safety plunger rides in that would hold it in the straight up position.
I'm not sure any of the A3 bolt sleeves I've got have...
I've got an original screw, but I lack a 2BA tap and die. Need to remember where I ordered the British tap I used to repair a No4 T scope bracket from.
