Got a round one with a G looking character.
Very certain that they have been.
Thank you.
Asking because I've seen another with MADE IN USA stamped in that general area.
My brother was born in the UP. So anyone in the family living below the bridge was a troll to him.
So you've been called a troll before then. ;)
Is that another ink stamp in the stitching in the 2nd pic? In the padding part circled.
Forgot that it had a rebuild stamp which is why whatever was on the other side was removed I assume.
This is a timely question. I just found a stock that sounds possibily similarly stamped. Mine is very small and sideways. Couldn't tell if it was two Ss or tow 5s and they're spread far apart. One at...
They don't come from the USA, do they? They come to the USA. If the pics are decent enough you can determine they're real or not.
Looks real to me. One problem is no butt plate pictures. It's a high wood, but RI3 pistol grip and I don't see prominent crossed cannon stamp. RI3 is not wrong but also not the ultimate configuration...
Thanks for the pic. It's a good one. The number was the position in the mold and there were 12 positions at time of casting pour.
If you can read the number after the asterisk of the butt plate what is it, please? A pic of the butt plate inside stamping would be appreciated, not just a zoom of the numbers though.
"This would be the perfect Carbine if it didn't have that import stamped barrel."
Oh yeah, I remember that post.
I'll get the popcorn.
Thanks, but I didn't state if they were stripped, sanded or raw. Nor anything about method of heating the oil. But I do always call the fire dept when I see someone deep frying their Turkey.
Thank you, Wayne.
Jim, I see you're probably deleting your posts, but thank you anyway. BTW, I was speaking of the original US contractors/producers.
They didn't heat BLO in the day as far as I know. I'd defer to Rick B on application of what kind of oil, but I've read that he hand rubs it in, which ever he says he uses.
It can be sold afterwards to recoup some costs, and you don't have to heat and cool each individual stock dunking. Wouldn't take long to dunk 20 or 40 stocks.
But maybe using a heating lamp in...
You do realize the question wasn't did the armory/military contractors do it that way, right? The question is, has anyone, "one", here, an individual, done it the same way. ;)
Cool. The less...
True, you shouldn't experience any problems. Some NPM slides are a hybrid slide. If yours is marked N15 (I think) in the slide bucket it may be one.
Has anyone hot dunked a Carbine or Garand stock as was done originally? I'm thinking of getting 10 gallons, putting it in a steel tube to heat and dipping it. The reason? I don't feel like hand...
Pretty sure that TVA specific ones had a tag affixed to the stock with two fasteners that would leave a hole on the stock somewhere when removed. I realize you aren't saying this is a TVA one.
Dave, thanks. Yes, it's written that all war is political. But I said the Austrians were willingly absorbed into Germany (because they're both Germanic people). By the way, the English are also...
So, you put out a lot of propaganda to debunk, Dave. But here's a few. Sudetenland was Germans stolen from Germany by the Allies in WWI out of Prussia. The Poles were brutalizing them and...
