Hello all,
Finally got my hands on a Eddystone p14 and love the rifle. Unfortunately, she has a bit of a crack in the stock extending from the tang area. I undressed her and the crack is not very...
Bill, I have a few manuals. Just asking for advice on a new caliber to me. And I know these older 1889s are more pressure sensitive.
Thanks!
Hello all.
Been presented with an opportunity to aquire a 1889 Schmitt Ruben. This will be my first Swiss rifle.
From doing some reading, I gathered that this will be a home load adventure. I...
A few is 500! Okay I'll start playing with that and see what I get. Thanks for your advice!
Hi all.
Recently bought a few 147 grn fmjbt .308 bullets to load for my 7.62 nato and 30-06
Wondering what load data people are using for these. I have Varget and imr4064 on hand.
I will...
I've contacted lee to see what they say about it. I've used more than enough pressure while using the collet die. As much so that I moved my table which my press is mounted! Still nothing. Bullet...
The cases I broke a little were all done with the FL sizer. It successfully sized the case neck, however a little too much and pulled the mandrel out of the die. Tried screwing that down tight also...
What about when there's a "car" inserted?[/QUOTE]
Opps sorry typo. With a case inserted, the collet barely moves, less than a 1/4".
Brass is from my rifle. And I set up all the dies according to the relevant instructions. Thinking it's the die set as I've never had this many problems.
I've followed those instructions precisely and yes without a car inserted you can see the collet portion moving. I did put an emty case into the collet earlier today, just to see if it's going the...
Die is assembled correctly and is lubed. Still. Same thing happens, did also try moving the body down, still not even getting a slight change in squeeze.
Thanks for your advice!
Hello all,
Started loading for my 30-06 (m1917). Bought a Lee ultimate set to reload for it. I have a neck sizing set for my .303 and that works perfectly.
This 30-06 one however, so far is...
Fantastic! Thanks for the advice! I'll load some up once I get the dies.
I'll post up the results from my rifle, hopefully it will like it!
Hello all.
Just got myself a beautiful m1917 rifle at a gun show. She shoots rather well!
I've got a shed load of 150grn fmj bullets that I bought a while back.
Currently Im using just...
Thanks Bill! That's a great help!
Thanks for that Bill, that's a very useful bit of information!
Roughly what length is the foreend?
Thanks!
Cheers chaps. I'll probably use the existing wood and fill any holes. Should have enough wood to do that. Anyone know the measurement for where the stock band sits?
Cheers for the replies everyone. If I do go ahead, I'll not install an metal end cap, as one of you stated, they weren't well liked anyhow and it was the norm to have rifles without them anyway....
Bought a no5mk1. Someone has put no4 wood set on it. Anyone know sources of no5mk1 wood? I know it's pretty difficult to find, already been searching for days!
I've read that some piele have used...
