Hi guys,
I have been a member here for many years. The scan of some Enfield stuff is from me. Just trying to lessen the blow for a stupid Garand question!
On my SA Garand the front furnature...
We import True-Flite into Canada. They are a first class barrel (or we wouldn't sell them)!!
I have seen the C* on a few and I think it must be a disposal mark of some sort but I don't know for sure.
Can someone tell me what the markings are/mean in the photos? The * is on the left side of a butt socket and the wood is the extreme front end.
Thanks!

I think tiriaq is correct. I have several rifles that were used for tr and no doubt cobbled together from available parts as tr shooters did and still do. In the early 80's when #4's were apparently...
Thanks for the info. I have more than one so I may auction one off, as much interested to see what it's worth!
After the fact but a picture

I just got a couple of Longs from Tradeex. Decent condition CAL and even if they are not exactly correct change them to shoot and then change back afterwards. A long is only about 1/2" longer than a...
That solves it.

I have a Long Branch rear sight that looks like a MkI with the screw adjustment but it has no battle aperture and is marked with what looks like a Maltese cross. Has anyone seen this one before?
Last time I checked North Sylva had Berdan primers.
I bought a couple of these, for myself and a friend. Of course I checked them both over and kept the best one for myself. Except for the fact that they were made in different years, they were both...
I had no metal parts but I would try it anyway and go slow. (I use the mw at work!)
Microwave works well for wood that wil fit. About 10sec at a time and test for heat. The cosmo will boil out and can be wiped off.
I also drove a VW bug. Bring it to the Canadian winter for a few years and you will see what I mean. I am sure they are great in Mexico and California.
I don't have too many that I don't reload for, a set of dies etc is always part of what I buy. I really don't remember when I bought anything other than 22 or 762x39. I bought 284 brass from...
I use Starrett as well and the only one I seem to bugger up is the 1/16". I may order a box of dowell pins that size and loctite them into a handle.
Lets be honest, if the Americans had not invented it it would not have been accepted. (Yes I know where Garand was from) It's like people that think the VW bug was actually a good car. The mag system...
Interesting, I have one the same, was just looking it up and found about the same info.
Knowing virtually nothing about these, if a fellow were looking to buy a rifle (not carbine) mainly as a shooter what model would be a good choice?
I use Wipe Out. Spray it in and give it many hours to work, don't rush, wipe it out and repeat. I have a couple of wooden P-H rod guides around for Lee Enfield, if anyone wants numbers to make some...
I have never seen a DCRA conversion that would eject or that even had a longer than normal ejector screw. They where intended as single shot only. The 303 extracors were used and if did not reach in...
