Thanks for the ID! Wish the kit had come with that extra safety catch. It's always difficult to replicate a part without having one in hand.
I've been trying to figure out what might have been...
Thanks for the picture! The Owen is my favorite WWII SMG. I've got a parts kit, and am slowly working on "cloning" it as a legal (in US) 16" barrel semi-auto.
I know the bayo mount and finned...
Thanks for the heads-up on the Owen parts! I actually have a complete Owen parts set - but I do like that finned barrel! I could use a mag or two though, and that MP38 mag also.
That is an interesting gadget. Thanks for the post! Gives me some ideas for the .45acp FAL I'm thinking of.
Just a bit of an update. I had left the flat off on my build, and have now found that the flat is not needed if the receiver tube is of a reduced inside diameter. The added wall thickness means the...
Thanks guys! I'll post up pics of other projects too. The detailed build thread for the Lanchester is over at weaponsguild.com, along with the FAL, 1911, and some other stuff (same member name)....
Thanks! The rear sight is from a Suomi KP-31. It's been modified somewhat - shortened and lowered to try and make it more Lanchester-like. Also scrubbed the word "SUOMI" from the side.
Here's...

Thanks for the information. Off to my shop to drive out the front sight and cut that flat.
Here's an image of the '28 BB with extractor ...

That's a fine idea for modifying the firing pin on a full-auto Lanchester. ...
Since it shares magazines with the STEN, I located my barrel similar to the STEN, with the breech end of the barrel about 0.040" forward of the inside front face of the magazine opening. I've seen...
On the barrel I made for my Lanchester semi-auto (posted in an earlier thread here), I just omitted that flat, since I could not figure out any purpose for it. Works fine. I used a STEN-type...
Thought some here might find this interesting. It's a Lanchester Mk-something clone.
Hammer-fired semi-auto with the required (in USA) 16" barrel. The receiver tube is a bit longer than the...
Thanks! Didn't realize how similar the Sterling part is. Should be much easier to find.
I'm working on building a Semi-auto clone of a Lanchester MK1* (located in the USA). Since my parts collection did not include an ejector (among several other bits), I'm getting ready to spin one on...
