I would love to speak to an Army armorer from that time to see what they did to salvage damaged rifles. i read that the no7 and no10 type were almost identical with both using pins instead of bolts...
I saw that after I took that pic. I took three more with the same effect. When you look at it it doesn't show up but it will show up in pics with the flash on.
Let me take a few more pics in...
Here are some pics of the stock.
That's great. This old war horse went through Peninsular Base Station in Italy and I wanted a non arsenal stock to put it back in. I doubt they would have sanded the area near the ejection port since...
I've recently bought a 1903 stock from Sarco. The stock is ok and in good shape for what they called service grade. I have not found any type of arsenal stamps on the stock except a Ordnance dept...
A store was going out of business and started to discount their inventory. I originally went to get a M39 Mosin. But with a few moments of haggling I walked out with both. BTW I paid $400 for the M39
Its either late war made mauser or made just after the war with spare parts left over. The dou is the manufacturer's code for Waffenwerk Brunn factory in the former state of Czechoslovakia. With the...

If you want to find the correct bolt try here. It will tell you everything down to the markings on the bolt. Lots of info http://www.vishooter.net/m1903.html
Thank You. Now to un-Yugo that stock that was sold to me. It was suppose to be a K98 not a Yugo M44. It came with unmarked parts and a Yugo SN stamp.
Some picture of the rifle in a temporary stock. It's now out of the stock and the stock is getting a thorough cleaning.
...
i can't really call the stock it came with as original because on top of the stamped number in the barrel channel there are 3 more written in pencil. Well traveled traveled stock to have survive...
The SN is two digits with no suffix so its definitely a early 1940. I have most of the metal parts. I have a bayonet lug that mismatched and the front band is milled and unmarked. I've been looking...
I recently scored a WW2 vet bring back in a sporterized stock. I can tell the stock is a laminated stock but since its been cut down I can not tell if it's a cupped or flat sine even the butt of the...

The offending holes......
It would be interesting to shoot. I have a M38 Turkish carbine, M38 Mosin, and M44 Mosin and they kick like a mule. That would probably require a chiropractor after the first shot or man up and shoot...
Why restore a variant of a 69 Cobra Mustang with a 428 that they made less than 120,000 of. You can drive it as is. A 50 year old POS that needs a major overhaul or you can restore it to the street...
Since i got back into C&R collecting I picked up a few projects for restoration. Why do I want to restore a Mark 1 to WW2 configuration? Stamped on the rear sight band is "PBS-7-44". After a few...
I've been away from the C&R collection for a few years getting things straight in my life but I'm back. In the past year Ive picked up a few sporters to restore to pass my time and spend my money on....
I'm amazed at how much crud that can soak into wood. I have rubbed down the grips repeatedly with Awesome Cleaner and used a soft tooth brush to clean out the grooves. They are starting to look...
I had a day off so I decided to check out the local pawn shops to see what they had. This is what I found. I've seen these on the C&R sites going from $350 to $600 USD so for $400 I bought it. The...

When I disassembled the rifle the was a heavy boiled linseed oil smell. It has been cut for the ring to hold down the hand guard. According to my research it's a Smith Corona stock because of the FJA...
